Blockchain Voting: Only If We Get It Right

This isn't a partisan fight, and this plank shouldn't pretend it's positioning against either major party. Neither has a clear national platform position specifically on blockchain voting, and the space has been governed by election officials and security researchers, not campaign platforms. The Innovation Party's delta here is temperamental rather than positional: say plainly, as this plank now does, that the technology's one test failed a security audit, rather than continuing to describe blockchain voting as promising-but-not-yet-ready in a way that quietly implies more momentum than exists. Adjacent to this issue but distinct from it, a partisan pattern does exist in the broader category of election- mechanics reform: the large majority of the 19 states that have banned ranked-choice voting did so via Republican-controlled legislatures (with a notable exception: Kansas's ban was signed by a Democratic governor), while congressional Democrats have pushed legislation to expand ranked-choice voting federally. That's a different reform than blockchain voting and shouldn't be conflated with it, but it's worth naming as the more electorally-live fight in this domain. The Forward Party is the party most actively engaged with the broader category of election-mechanics reform this plank belongs to (its platform centers ranked-choice/STAR voting, nonpartisan primaries, and independent redistricting), even though it hasn't specifically weighed in on blockchain voting itself.
